Selecting A Collision Repair Shop

It’s hard now days to find a reputable auto body shop that can repair your damaged vehicle properly. Body shops are not all the same. Most people aren’t even sure where to look or how to tell if a shop is one that they can trust to do the job right.
Internet Local Search
First, run an internet search to see what auto body shops are in your community or nearby. Read over the reviews to see what others are saying.  Look at the shop that you feel is the most convenient for you; either near your work or your home, whichever one won’t break will cost the least if you have to tow your car in for repairs. Ask your friends, co-workers and family who they have used in the past.
Body Shop Overall Appearance
Once you’ve gathered all the information you can online and offline, visit the body shop of your choice in person to evaluate first by its appearance. Check to see if the repair facility is clean and organized. Make sure they never leave vehicles unattended and garage should look busy.
Technician Training and Education
Next, ask the manager a few questions before deciding to use their services. Find out if their technicians keep up with the latest auto repair technology and are properly trained to work on your make of automobile. Make sure the staff looks professional with their clothing and protective gear. You’ll want to choose an auto body shop that hires individuals who are thorough and well kept. How they appear will often times indicate just how they would work on your vehicle too.
Body Shop Standard Equipment
The shop should have a professional automobile paint booth on-site to paint your car with the least amount of dust and environmental contamination.  They should have repair tools such as computerized frame measuring and specialized repair equipment. A shop that is known for excellent auto body repairs will own the necessary tools on site.
Paint Matching
If your car will require a paint job, make sure they have a system to color match your current vehicles paint color. Matching paint will determine the overall appearance of your vehicle once the repair is finished.
Ask the manager or if they able to guarantee a perfect color match to your vehicles paint.  You want to be confident that your car will look exactly like new without any uneven shades or bad blends when the repair is completed.
